Good plastering is mostly invisible - it's the bad plastering you notice, in the form of hollows, cracking and flashing through paint. We skim ceilings and walls to a consistent, flat finish, patch and repair damaged areas so they blend into the surrounding wall, and re-plaster rooms affected by damp, cracking or old, blown plaster.
We also carry out dot-and-dab plasterboard lining and boarding for stud walls, insulation upgrades and loft conversions, ready for a final skim coat. This is common work in Hull's older terraced housing, where original lath-and-plaster ceilings and walls often need patching or full replacement as part of a wider renovation.

How long does plaster need to dry before painting?
Fresh plaster typically needs at least a week to dry per coat before painting, depending on room temperature, ventilation and how many coats were applied. We'll advise on drying times for your specific job.
Can you plaster over old artex or textured ceilings?
In most cases, yes - either by skimming directly over a sound textured ceiling or by boarding over it first if the surface isn't suitable to skim onto directly.
