Decorating

The finishing stage that makes a renovation feel complete.

Decorating is usually the last thing that happens on a renovation, and it shows up every mark a previous trade left behind - so preparation matters as much as the paint itself. We fill, sand and prime walls and woodwork properly before anything goes on with a roller, so the finished result is smooth and even rather than patchy.

We paint walls, ceilings and woodwork, and can advise on finishes that suit high-traffic areas like hallways and kitchens versus bedrooms and living rooms. Most of our decorating work happens as the final stage of a kitchen fit, bathroom install or full renovation, but we're also happy to take on standalone decorating jobs - a single room refresh, a rental property turnaround, or repainting after a plastering repair.

We cover Hull, Hessle, Beverley, Cottingham, Anlaby and the surrounding East Riding.

Decorating FAQs

Common questions about decorating work.

Do you supply the paint, or do I choose it?

Either works - we're happy to advise on suitable finishes and sheens for each room, or to use paint you've already chosen and purchased.

How soon after plastering can you decorate?

Fresh plaster needs to dry out fully before painting, which typically takes at least a week per coat depending on conditions - we'll factor this into the schedule if decorating follows on from plastering work.
